Just like kids, dogs also love toys. Dog toys serve different purposes for puppies and dogs. Like for puppies, there are toys that they can chew on when they are teething. These toys can provide relief to their sore gums and jaws.

Dog toys serve as play things that provide entertainment and keep dogs busy all day long, even while the pet owner is away. It also encourages exercise which is a benefit for the pet's overall health. It is a simple yet very efficient tool that helps develop the ability of dogs in properly obeying the command of their masters. With dog toys, dogs can be trained in a small but effective way. Toys also stimulate the dog's mind, discourage problem behavior resulting from boredom and excess energy.

Also, the dog toy performs a number of functions that can be advantageous not just for pets but also for dog owners. It improves pet-owner relationship by giving them quality play time. Pet owners don't have much time to focus on the pet's needs because of the busy schedule. The dog toys are the best alternative tool to entertain and develop the abilities of the dog even while owner is away. They will help the dog get through dull and boring moments as they keep him playful and active.

When choosing a dog toy, it is important to choose those made with non toxic materials. Dog owners should avoid giving their dogs objects with small parts that could be chewed off and ingested.
Dog toys are not safe if small pieces can be chewed or pulled off as these could be swallowed by the dog. The toy should also be adequate for the dog, taking into consideration their size and activity levels. Be sure that the toys you give your dog are  petsafe besides being fun and functional.
